Olives & Olive Oil

Chilean Extra Virgin Olive Oil, with the Excellence of a Mediterranean Climate in the South of the World

Chile, a country with outstanding agro-ecological conditions:

Chilean agro-industrial production has clear comparative and competitive advantages. Due to its geographical location, the country concentrates most of its fruit and vegetable production out of season with respect to the world's main consumption centers in the Northern Hemisphere. Optimum agro-ecological conditions with an adequate cold season during the winter and important thermal differences between day and night during the plant growing season give fruit and vegetables excellent color, aroma and flavor characteristics.

Chile has state-of-the-art olive oil processing plants and entrepreneurs with extensive experience in top-quality agro-industrial production. In keeping with the aforementioned characteristics, it is no surprise that Chile produces some of the best extra virgin olive oil in the world.

A noble product teeming with health benefits: Olive oil’s virtues have been well-known since times of yore. Olive oil is rich in monosaturated fatty acids, predominantly oleic acid, and has many health benefits.

Extraordinary oil made from fresh healthy olives:

Chilean extra virgin olive oil‘s main characteristic is its intense fruity flavor, highly appreciated by experts, a quality in which oil best expresses all the virtues of its flavor and aroma. This is the final product of a painstaking production process in which the time lapse between harvesting and processing is no greater than 12 hours, thus preventing berry spoiling or rust which ruins the oil.

The result is an “extra virgin olive oil” with extraordinary color, aroma and flavor to be enjoyed with fine cuisine.

Chile, an exporting power in the south of the world:

The sure, constant flow of top-quality products complying with the most stringent international standards is backed by professional and qualified technicians, stable economic structure, and commercial agreements with most countries, including recent agreements with the USA and Europe. All of this has facilitated sustainable development in this industry.

Value Chain:

Many factors have come together to consolidate Chile's position as an agro-industrial exporting country.

The country's exceptional agro-ecological conditions are very important, especially for the production of fruit and vegetables.

Specialized know-how in fruit growing added to the country's soil quality, Mediterranean climate and natural barriers such as the Andes mountain range, the Pacific Ocean and the Atacama Desert which isolate pests and disease make Chile a highly-favored country.

In addition to the country's comparative advantages, competitive industrial aspects such as strict quality control in all agricultural and agro-industrial processes must be taken into consideration.

Modern agricultural production and industrial process structure together with renowned economic and institutional stability, a suitable service network and backup infrastructure have made Chilean exporters some of the safest and most trustworthy exporters in the world, including Chile in some of the most demanding markets in the world.

Chilean extra virgin olive oil, an excellent product from the south of the world.

Aiming for highly selective market niches, Chilean producers offer unique top-quality extra virgin olive oil. Stringent quality standards for the best varieties, harvesting and processing are confirmed by prizes awarded to Chilean producers at major annual European quality contests.
