Main Sectors

Because of Chile’s diverse geography, a sound environment and temperate Mediterranean climate, agricultural and forestry industries are able to produce and export an unusually wide range of products.

Chilean agriculture is a world of opportunities: Although our country is known today as the largest exporter of fresh fruit of the Southern Hemisphere, agriculture in Chile covers a wide range of activities such as the cultivation of annual crops, cattle ranching, dairy farming, flowers, seed multiplication, as well as fruit and vegetable production. Moreover, Chile also has flourishing and competitive industries in the food and forestry sectors that ship their products to the most demanding markets in America, Europe and Asia.

This section presents detailed information on the main sectors that integrate the agricultural, food and forestry industrial complex in Chile. You will find links to the main trade associations, producers and exporters, as well as business information and data banks on industries such as fresh and processed fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry, salmon and aquaculture, dairy products, wine, organic products, seeds, flowers and olive oil, as well as forestry products.
