Honey

Beekeeping Products, Sweet and Clear

The beekeeping industry in Chile, specifically its production of honey, is noted for its flavor, color, purity, crystallization, quality packing, food safety and adequate supply.

Throughout its almost 2500-mile long territory (4000 kilometers) Chile has varied climates that have encouraged the development of different ecosystems. These gave rise to a rich native flora and hence, Chile is able to produce different types of honey: dark from the Quillay (Quillaja saponaria) and white from the ulmo (Eucryphia cordifolia).

Chile has become a highly reliable supplier because it is free of bacterial diseases such as the American and European Foulbrood and because it conducts the required quality controls to prevent exports of honey contaminated with chemicals or antibiotics.
