Agricultural Trade: Overview
The proactive trade policy followed by Chile in the last 15 years, has opened new markets and allows Chilean agricultural producers and exporters to reach consumers in most countries of the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim. Today, our products compete in most countries of the world. Last year alone, Chile’s agricultural, food, beverage and forestry exports reached almost 8 billion dollars. During 2005, these exports grew by almost 6% and contributed to nearly one quarter of total Chilean exports.
The section that follows provides statistical data on the evolution of Chilean agricultural trade. You will also find direct links to websites of Chilean government agencies that keep and maintain up to date trade data banks.
